Today I going to talk about the proyect "Alto Maipo".
"Alto Maipo" is a hydroelectric proyect in Stgo, especific in the "cajon del maipo". This proyect supposedly search produce energy for "all the chilean people". But this not is true, because according to investigation, the energy will be to Pelambres proyect, an miner of the group Luksic, the same that finance part of the proyect "alto maipo".
The proyect would have serious consequences for the river maipo and its surroundings because the proyect
implicate desertification, melting of glaciers, exhaustion of resources water
that provide to six million of persons
and one hundred twenty thousand hectare of irrigation, and closing of some of
last crossing free that have the lover of the mountain.
The "only good of this proyect" is that the people of "cajon del maipo", "puente alto", and some sectors of santiago, have formed an social movement that seeks to defend the river maipo. This movemente has made many actions, as protests, concerts for diffuse the social problems that would cuase the project "alto maipo".
I hope that this proyect will be destroyed. I hope that the community triumph and could keep his form of live, with the beutiful place and his clean waters.
